Fluor-BWXT Partners With Rural King for Employee Safety Awards

WAVERLY, Ohio -- February 13, 2019 -- For a second year in a row, Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth (FBP) has partnered with Waverly’s Rural King for their Safety Award Program. FBP employees who receive an award for working safely are eligible to select a gift of their choice from a catalog of different Rural King items. The program promotes safety and also helps support the local economy by providing additional sales to an area business.

“These Rural King safety awards are a prime example of the value that we, as a company, place on the health and well-being of our employees,” said Bob Smith, FBP Site Project Director. “At the same time, we are able to support businesses that are providing services and employment opportunities in our region. This is a win-win all the way around.”

“The new program this year is a little better, with more items being offered and accessibility is better. Last year, we shipped items out for the safety program. Now they just come to the store. It’s great to team up, partner up--a blessing on both ends. It’s helped our people at the store because it keeps safety on their minds as well,” said Donovan Bond, Manager of Rural King’s Waverly location.

Site personnel may nominate any FBP or contracted personnel for a safety award. Recipients redeem their voucher at the Waverly store located at 1001 West 2nd Street.
